Hi there!
I almost gave up on LinkedIn before I finally realized how powerful of a career tool it really is.
And I’m sure you’ve thought about it as well.
You sign up, scroll through a few dozen profiles and it feels like everyone else already has thousands of connections and shiny job titles.
Meanwhile, you’re still trying to figure out how to create a decent banner for your profile.
It’s frustrating.
And it feels like LinkedIn only works for people who are already established, not for someone who’s just starting out.
But that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Most people think they need thousands of connections in order to have a successful profile.
When in reality, you only need 500.
Once you cross that line, LinkedIn stops showing the exact number.
Which means that whether you have 501, 5,001 or 50,001, your profile simply says 500+.
And while 500 might sound like a huge number right now… it’s a lot more doable than you think:
3 connections a day = less than 6 months
5 a day = 100 days
10 a day = 7 weeks
All of which you can do in less than 10 minutes per day, while sipping your morning coffee, waiting for lunch to heat up, or winding down in the evening.
That’s not an endless grind. That’s just consistency.
And the best part?
If your profile is set up correctly during this journey, chances are you’ll already find plenty of opportunities regardless of your number of connections.
Don’t overthink it.
Start today and soon enough 500 won’t feel like a goal, it’ll be just another milestone you’ve crushed!
