Out of curiosity, have you ever browsed through other people’s profiles on LinkedIn?

I have (a lot!)

And every time I am shocked by people’s education sections.

Fancy degrees, big school names, long titles that sound impressive.

And I used to always feel discouraged comparing myself to that.

Turns out that feeling is much more common than I thought.

A few years ago when I was in the middle of job-hunting, I kept wondering whether having “just” a Bachelor’s degree was “enough” to be taken seriously.

But over time, that perspective changed. And not just for me.

More and more companies, especially in the US, have started caring less about where you studied and more about what you can actually do.

In fact, just a couple of weeks ago I shared a post on LinkedIn about OpenAI’s residency program hiring for “trajectory over credentials.”

That means they care about your ability to learn over collecting degrees.

So if you’ve ever felt like you don’t belong on LinkedIn or that you don’t have enough education to be successful…

Stop thinking about it.

LinkedIn isn’t a classroom. It’s a place where ideas, skills and proof of work speak much louder than credentials.

Focus on learning. Focus on doing the work. Focus on sharing what you’re building or figuring out.

And if this email was the push you needed to start prioritizing the things that actually matter for your long-term career…
