Hi friends,

For the first time since 2021, there are now fewer job openings than people looking for work in the US.

Meaning that a market which was already tough just became even tougher.

And when things get harder, most people take a step back, stop posting, and hope things get better later.

Take me for example: right before I was laid off 2 years ago, I remember thinking to myself “I’ll start applying to jobs when the job market gets better, and focus on doing a better job at work right now instead.”

Spoiler alert: the job market did not get better.

But slowing down when the market gets harder will only put you further behind.

Not because others are doing more, but because employers’ bar for hiring keeps rising, and fewer people stay in the game long enough to stand out.

Which means you currently have two choices:

You can let discouragement make your decisions for you, drift with the current, and cross your fingers…

Or you can decide that even though the market might be unpredictable…

Your effort, strategy, and visibility don’t have to be.

Because even when openings decrease, companies still hire:

  • People who stand out

  • People who make it easy to say yes

  • People who show they’re actively growing

  • People who are visible, present, and intentional

Hiring doesn’t stop, but the standards rise.

And that’s exactly why now is the moment to double down on the things that give you an edge:

Your LinkedIn presence, your network, your clarity, and the story you tell about who you are professionally.

If you want a practical way to achieve these results, even in a shrinking job market…

And make yourself the exception to the trend…
